The mission of Dalhart ISD is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to become life-long learners. This mission is not possible without the collaboration with parents and families. Dalhart ISD will involve parents in all aspects of their students learning.
Dalhart ISD is considered school-wide Title I (this means that more that 40% of our students are eligible for the free and/or reduced lunch program) The school-wide eligibility entitles all students to the benefits of Title I. Title I is a federal grant that awards the district funding to improve our school district. Title I requires that:

The Title I program is designed to build parent and community engagement and ultimately increase student achievement. Dalhart ISD has many strategies for increasing family engagement:
Each campus will develop a Home-School Compact to communicate roles and responsibilities of students, teachers and families. This compact will be reviewed and updated annually. These compacts will encourage collaboration between school and home. Copies of the Home-School Compact are found online and at the campus. Compacts can be translated as needed.
Parental Involvement Opportunities
Dalhart ISD encourages parent and family involvement and offers many opportunities for collaboration in the student's learning, development and achievement. Below is a list of a few of the strategies for involvement:
An evaluation of the Title I program will be conducted annually and will include results of the Title I Survey that is completed by parents. These results will be included in the District and Campus Comprehensive Needs Assessment that guide the planning for goal setting for DISD.
