All individuals interested in becoming a substitute teacher for Dalhart ISD, must meet the following qualifications:
General Information
1. Complete the substitute application online and submit it electronically. The information on the application should be filled out accurately and completely. Attach transcripts, diploma, resume and any certifications held.
2. After the application has been processed, Human Resources will contact the applicant by email to provide the following before any substitute is able to accept an assignment:
All items are required to be completed, filed and processed by Human Resources prior to being approved.
3. Substitute training is required. Dates are announced on the Dalhart ISD website and facebook.
Substitute Pay Rate
The pay rate is established each year by the DISD School Board.

Non-Degree Long Term (more than 10 consective days) | $95.00 | $47.50 |
Degreed Long Term (more than 10 consective days) | $110.00 | $55.00 |
Long-Term Substitutes
Substitutes placed in teacher assignments for more than 10 consecutive days will be paid at a rate of $95.00 per day if non-degreed and $110.00 per day if degreed. Long-term substitutes perform additional duties that a long-term assignment requires such as: grading papers, preparing lessons, attending parent conferences, as well as any other duties of the teacher.
Frontline (formerly Aesop)
Frontline Absence Management is an online program that allows teachers to enter absences and request substitutes. Teachers can view and manage their absences, add classroom lesson plans and other files for substitutes, and view reports on their absence history. Self-help guides and videos are available online for training and assistance.
