I grew up in Dumas, graduated from Dumas High School, and attended Amarillo College. Before moving to Denver, Colorado in 1980 I was employed at the Moore County News-Press and the Texas Department of Health. Early on in Denver I gained exprience at Compuer Resources Corp., a technology company and York, Borg Warner supporting a staff of five engineers.
In 1985 I married Gary Edwards, a Denver native. We have two children, Cindy and Steve.
While raising my children I spent twelve (12) years at The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) in the Office of Public Affairs, In 1999 I became the Denver Center’s first full-time Web Services Manager, where I oversaw the design and implementation of the organization’s inaugural website launch on August 31, 1999. For the next sixteen years, I was responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of all aspects of the site (along with multiple microsites) and shepherded the organization through multiple redesigns incorporating new technologies to serve the needs of the multi-million dollar 501©3 not-for-profit organization.
In 2015 my husband retired from Xcel Energy, and we made the move to the Texas Panhandle and a less harried world. I have been employed at Dalhart Intermediate School as Secretary/Registrar since September 2015.
